A green energy solution has been introduced by Access Bank Plc and Asolar to address the issues with power supply that small and medium-sized businesses and rural areas nationwide are facing.
The products were unveiled at the bank's branch in Garki, Abuja, and included solar-powered TV sets, air conditioners, and PoS machines, among many other items.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony with the theme "Light up your community," Victor Etuokwu, deputy managing director of Access Bank, stated that the nation's companies and way of life are now severely hampered by the erratic power supply. Mr. Etuokwu stated that the initiative's goal was to advance financial inclusion in rural areas, and he was accompanied by Neka Adogu, the bank's Director of Regional Services.
He stated: “Through this partnership, we embark on a transformative journey to introduce cost-effective and dependable solar-powered solutions tailored specifically for small and medium businesses.
“By harnessing the potential of solar energy, we aim to untether these businesses from the shackles of unreliable power sources and offer promising alternatives to traditional generators reliant on expensiveness and polluting fossil fuels. “By providing access to affordable solar-powered solutions, we endeavour to significantly reduce operational costs, enhance productivity and catalyse growth for these enterprises.
“Access Bank PLC’s collaboration with ASOLAR is not merely transforming power solutions; it is utilising our Access CLOSA Agent Network platform as the digital payment provider.”
Hakeem Shagaya, the CEO of Asolar, stated in his speech that his organization is dedicated to making sure that every person in the nation has access to dependable and sustainable energy.
Mr. Shagaya acknowledged that the project was in keeping with the sustainable development targets on clean and renewable energy while thanking the bank's management for their cooperation.
