In a significant turn of events, Peru has inaugurated its first ever female President, Dina Bolouarte after the former President declared a state of emergency and stated that he was going to dissolve the opposition dominated Congress and replace it with his own government.

The Congress that he was trying to dissolve quickly held the impeachment vote that he was trying to prevent, shortly after he was removed from power, arrested and charged with breaching constitutional order.

The very same day he is now being replaced by Peru's first ever female President , as she becomes the Country's sixth President in six years.
