In yesterday's multiple accident on the Kara bridge leading away from Lagos, one person died. Men from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority saved two people (LASTMA).
The collision, which occurred at 7am, involved a fully loaded containerized truck along with five additional private vehicles, according to a statement by Taofiq Adebayo, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment for LASTMA.
He stated a male hawker passed away suddenly. The body and the people who had been rescued, according to Adebayo, had been given to the local medical team.
According to him, a preliminary examination revealed that the truck's brakes failed, causing it to crash into an 18-seat commercial bus that was fully loaded as well as four other cars.
The rescue squad was lead by Mabunmi Abisola, head of LASTMA (Zebra) at Ojodu-Berger, who stated that the affected vehicles were promptly evacuated from the bridge to ease traffic. Abisola noted that the Federal Road Safety Commission, the police, and forensic officials were among the first to react at the accident scene (FRSC).
