Prize for Banker of the Year goes to Nneka Onyeali-Ikp

At the 14th Leadership Annual Conference and Awards, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, received the Banker of the Year 2022 award.
 

The vibrant event was hosted by Leadership Media Group, the company that publishes Leadership publications, and it took place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Abuja International Convention Center. Former Kenyan Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga gave the keynote talk at the well-attended event, which was presided over by Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, and covered the topic "Credible Election and an Economy in Transition."

After the occasion, an overjoyed Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe spoke to the media and expressed her gratitude for the distinction, saying, "I am pleased for this acknowledgment as it is yet another proof of the outstanding job that we are doing in Fidelity Bank. I dedicate the honor to the bank's board of directors, management, and employees who fight to make the bank a strong participant in the sector for their support.

Other honorees at the ceremony included Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (ret. ), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and Prof. Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Africa Export Import Bank (AFREXIM), both of whom received the Leadership Person of the Year 2022 award. Engr. Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), received the Oil and Gas Local Content Award.

Almost 6.5 million customers are served by Fidelity Bank, a full-service commercial bank with 250 business locations and online banking services in Nigeria. The World Banking & Finance Awards just named the bank Nigeria's Best SME Bank 2022. The bank has also received honors from the 2021 BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards for "Fastest Growing Bank" and "MSME & Entrepreneurship Financing Bank of the Year."
