Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, in a bid to calm nerves over his controversial win has moved to pacify the South-East with senate presidency, ahead of a meeting with the National Assembly members-elect scheduled for Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
A supposed trustworthy source who wished to remain anonymous informed Vanguard that Tinubu claimed to do everything in his power to ensure that all regions of the country were included in his new government, Despite their political inclinations in the last elections.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, has claimed to want to form a government of national unity, according to Vanguard, ahead of a meeting with the National Assembly members-elect scheduled for Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The source who claimed to be a longtime associate of Tinubu went on to say that there will be no racial or ethnic discrimination in Tinubu's cabinet. He continued by saying that it was on the agenda for the meeting with the national assembly members-elect.
He claimed that Tinubu allegedly told some of his protégés who are elected senators to begin looking for a senator from the Southeast to serve as the next Senate President.
It will be recalled that the southeast region produced six senators for the ruling APC, giving it a strong advantage which is not really surprising in the sense that the whole election is controversial and full of irregularities.

For the interests of equity, fairness, and justice, he has confided in us his pledge to support the election of a Senate President from the Southeast, upholding the status quo and a feeling of inclusivity.
The source further stated that "In 2015, the Southeast was told to hold themselves responsible for their failure to support the APC, which would have given them the Senate's top office. They claimed in 2019 that the Southeast lacks a ranking senator, but by 2023, six APC senators were elected there despite the region's significant support for the Labour Party". which is probably the reason Tinubu wants to give the slot to the southeast.
The source further stated that Tinubu wanted to give the slot to the southeast because he believed its the right thing to do but in reality it is just a decoy and distraction from the atrocious irregularities plaguing the elections.
The source claimed that Orji Uzor Kalu, a returning senator, and chief whip, who is a close associate of Tinubu may be the president-elect's preferred nominee.
