Speaking at the flag-off ceremony on Thursday night in Government House, Gusau, the Minister lamented the severe humanitarian crises that Zamfara was experiencing and confirmed that President Tinubu had instructed her Ministry to collaborate with the state government in order to address the issues of poverty and humanitarian crisis that the people were facing.

The Minister believes that Zamfara requires immediate assistance because it is one of the states that has recently experienced humanitarian problems. It has been a hot spot forever.

She gave a brief introduction to the verification team and tasked the officials with updating the social register with honesty and transparency.

The Minister assured the people of Zamfara State that their humanitarian needs will be met with the necessary urgency. ensuring that the state would be accurately represented in all social intervention programs run by the federal government, with the exception of the National Social Register's extension.

Governor Lawal responded by praising Dr. Edu's enthusiasm and agility in making sure she carried out her Ministry's job.

"We sense the positive force behind Mr. President's Renewed Hope Agenda in you. To be honest, I'm impressed by the work you are doing throughout the nation.

"Taking the pains to visit us here in Zamfars shows Mr President’s love and concern for the people of the state and we thank you for that.

"Zamfara has suffered, in terms of insecurity and humanitarian crisis in the last 10 years and I call on the federal government to do more to secure the life and property of our people, while asking for more social and capital investment in zamfara to take our people out of humanitarian crises and poverty.

Speaking further, the top citizen of Zamfara state gave the Minister her word that the state would provide accurate data to her ministry about vulnerable citizens in need of the federal government's various social intervention programs, such as the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT), which is intended only for those who are truly impoverished and has no personal or political motivation.

He thanked Mr. President and the Minister for enabling the state's disadvantaged indigenous people to access the social intervention programs, and he stated that his administration was prepared to work with the federal government to make sure these programs were successfully implemented.

Earlier in his speech, Hon. Abdulaziz Danladi, National Programme Coordinator of the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO), stated that a team had been in Zamfara working with the state government to update and validate the National Social Register in several areas.

According to Danladi, the social register data collected in Zamfara State was highly encouraging, which lessened their enormous duty.
