Former Ecobank CEO to address entrepreneurs’ summit

 

Patrick Akinwuntan, the former chief executive officer and managing director of EcoBank Nigeria, will lead a team of seasoned financial specialists to address the problems facing the nation's small and medium-sized businesses.

Akinwuntan has confirmed that he will chair the 20th annual lecture and 29th anniversary of the Catholic Brothers United of the St. Agnes Catholic Church Maryland, Lagos, with Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state serving as the top guest of honor, according to a press release issued by Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Chika Izuora.

The conference's theme, "Entrepreneurship Drive: A Tool for Mitigating Unemployment for National Growth," according to Gabriel Akumhegie, chairman of the organizing committee, is appropriate considering the slow expansion of the nation's industrial sector.

Akumhegie says that the program, which is set for October 22nd, is acceptable considering the state of Nigeria's job conditions for the third quarter of this year, which fell to the lowest level in almost three years due to the elimination of gasoline subsidies and the depreciation of the naira.

According to the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria's most recent aggregate Manufacturers’ CEOs Confidence Index, which he cited, employment conditions for the July–September 2023 quarter declined below the 50 benchmark points to 46.6 points from 47.8 points the previous quarter.
