905 students benefit from Lead City varsity N322m scholarships

 During the 2022–2023 academic year, 840 students were awarded tuition-free scholarships from Lead City University, while 65 additional students received free housing as part of the school's scholarship initiatives. Three hundred and twenty-two million, six hundred and six thousand, two hundred and fifty naira (N322, 606,250.00) was the estimated amount of the scholarship grants. This was revealed to media over the weekend during a press conference regarding Lead City University's post-16 convocation by Prof. Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo, the vice chancellor of the school.

According to him, Lead City University has set up a number of scholarship programs to help worthy students who are struggling financially. The five-year extension of Adeyemo's term took effect on January 1, 2023. Fullbright scholar Dr. Atim Eneida George was being hosted by the university, he said, adding that “the collaborative projects initiated during her visit period have set the stage for continued academic excellence and global engagement.”

Adeyemo stated: "Lead City University has set up a number of scholarship programs to help worthy students who are struggling financially. These scholarships are given out according to certain requirements established by our university, financial necessity, and academic merit. “By offering these scholarships, we enable students who would otherwise be unable to pursue higher education to access our educational opportunities. We actively collaborate with local organisations, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations to identify students in need of financial support.

“We strive to make education more accessible by offering flexible payment options and reduced fees for economically disadvantaged students. This helps ensure that financial constraints do not become barriers to education.”
