Uzodinma appoints Orjiako, Ogwudire as special advisers

 

Fresh appointments for the second term of four years have been announced by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, a few days after his cabinet was dissolved.

You may remember the governor saying, "Success recorded in the last four years of his administration will certainly be dwarfed by the success that would be recorded in the second term," during his recent inauguration for a second term.

It "demands that fresh persons, ideas, and enthusiasm be taken into consideration" in order for it to succeed, he says.

He also made hints that anybody who would be involved in the future administration, whether directly or indirectly, would have good reason to be happy to be associated with his administration. As a result, he designated Umunna Humphrey Orjiako as the Special Liaison Advisor for Abuja.

Orjiako is a former senior Foreign Service officer who served as Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva. He also served as Switzerland's ambassador once and Liechtenstein's ambassador once.

It is said that during the course of his career, Orjiako, who is credited with having invaluable global outreach and capacity at high levels of bilateral and multilateral international governance and cooperation, served as director to four former Nigerian ministers: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Joy Ogwu, the late Ojo Maduekwe, and Odein Ajumogobia (SAN).

Orjiako was educated at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), the University of Lagos (Unilag), and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford, Massachusetts. He is a native of Ehime Mbano, Imo State.

He enlisted in the Foreign Service in 1980, serving both domestically and abroad in places including Spain, Sweden, the Nordic region, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the United States of America. After 35 years of service, he was awarded a merit-based retirement. Additionally, Kingsley Ogwudire was named by the governor as Special Advisor for Diaspora Sports.

Ogwudire used to play basketball professionally. Like Humphrey Orjiako's, his appointment was effective right away.

Ogwudire has over 19 years of success in sports, banking, and organizational operations. He is a highly accomplished senior executive officer and counselor who has also had a stellar career in the Nigerian Basketball Association (NBA) and other international teams.

Ogwudire is a strategic leader with a track record of success in financial management, operations, and entrepreneurial endeavors. He serves as the president and CEO of XCEPTION LLC, an organization he founded that uses cutting-edge platforms to revolutionize the nation's athletic recruiting and fundraising scene, especially in Imo State.

In order to find and select talented children between the ages of 14 and 19, develop their skills for potential scholarship opportunities in American schools, and give aspiring athletes a way to pursue both their athletic and academic goals, Ogwudire is currently leading an unprecedented Football and Basketball Showcase in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

At 52 years old, he pursued his studies in business administration at Foothill College in Los Altos, California, and Montana State University, Northern, Havre, Montana.
