Ministry, NESG partner to review tourism industry

 The Nigeria Economic Summit Group and the Federal Ministry of tourist are working together to assess federal government policies and initiatives aimed at advancing the country's tourist sector.

This was disclosed by Lola Ade-John, the Minister of Tourism, during her Wednesday reception at the Ministry in Abuja with the NESG delegation, which was led by Tayo Aduloju, the organization's CEO.

According to the statement signed by the spokesperson, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Joesef Karim, on Wednesday, the partnership would “ensure mutual commitment of parties to programmes and tasks intrinsic in the technical processes of reviewing, developing, and implementing a roadmap for the entrenchment of a sustainable tourism industry in Nigeria.”

Ade-John, noted that working with NESG will help “review government policies and provision of technical support in implementation of Nigeria tourism industry development roadmap.”

Aduloju stated that “NESG’s role is to optimize governance framework for the industry.”The Director General NIHOTOUR, Nura Kangiwa, and the Director General of Nigeria Tourism Development Authority, Folorunsho Coker, were among those present at the meeting.

Ade-John opened a mobile culinary training kitchen for cooks around the nation on February 6, 2023. Ade-John noted that the project underscores “Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and highlights the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering growth, empowerment, and culinary excellence within our great nation.”

Leading think tank in the private sector, NESG assists government agencies and organs in developing public policies and carrying out public initiatives.

Ade-John has already urged pertinent parties to create, preserve, and market the country's tourism offerings.


She said the products needed to be publicized both nationally and internationally.

In addition, she called for the growth of Nigeria's tourist industry during the 2023 World tourist Day celebration in Abuja, which had as its topic "Tourism and Green Investment."
