Evelyn Ijeh, daughter of former Nigeria striker Peter Ijeh, has secured a permanent contract with AC Milan until 2027, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Italian giants offered Evelyn the permanent deal after her impressive performance on loan from Tigres UANL last season, where she scored four goals in 15 appearances for the Rossonere.
AC Milan announced the signing on their website on Wednesday in a statement titled, "Permanent deal for Ijeh." The statement read, "AC Milan is delighted to announce that Evelyn Ijeh has joined the club on a permanent deal from Club Tigres Femenil UANL. The Swedish forward, who joined AC Milan on loan in January, picked up 15 appearances and four goals for the Rossonere. Evelyn has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2027."
Peter Ijeh celebrated his daughter's new deal with a Facebook post on Thursday, which garnered numerous congratulatory messages. "Congratulations, Evelyn Ijeh, on your new contract. I wish you all the best. Evelyn Ijeh signed a new contract," the Sweden-based coach wrote beneath a picture of Evelyn signing the contract with a broad smile.
Evelyn, primarily a striker who has played in all positions—even as a goalkeeper in her childhood—began her professional career with Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in 2017. She played there until 2020 before moving to BK Häcken FF, Lidköpings FK, Växjö DFF, and Tigres UANL.
In 2021, Evelyn received an invitation to join the Super Falcons and participated in the team’s training camp in Vienna, Austria, alongside her younger sibling Josephine. Although both were not selected for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, Evelyn was later called up by Sweden for the team’s training trip to Portugal ahead of the tournament.
