Oluwafemi Asekeji, a 34-year-old businessman, was given a life sentence by an Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court on Tuesday for the defilement of his 12-year-old biological daughter.
The convict's unlawful sex with his own biological child, according to Soladoye, violated the laws of nature.
She stated that it was an instance of incest that ought to never be heard of.
She alleges that the 75-year-old convict's father testified against him, saying that he defiled his granddaughter by engaging in illegal sexual relations with her.
The judge stated, "The victim testified that she was 14 years old when her father defiled her, but she claimed to be 12 years old at the time."
"She testified that on June 11, 2020, she was at home with her father when he gave her the order to go into the room and sleep on the bed because he was intoxicated.
In her testimony, she stated that on June 11, 2020, she was at home with her intoxicated father when he gave her the order to go inside the room and lie down on the bed.
“She told this court that her father asked her to take off her clothes and then had s!x with her.
“She said and I quote ‘he laid on me and put his penis in my vagina, then he took videos of me and threatened to show the video to people if I tell anybody what has happened.”
The survivor said, according to the court, that after her father molested her, he told her to drink salt water.
The victim informed the court, according to the judge, that she was unable to inform anybody sooner because the convict had threatened to kill her if she disclosed to anyone that he had been sexually assaulting her before to the most recent event on June 11, 2020.
In her testimony, the convict's mother—a petty trader—also informed the court that she had seen blood on her granddaughter's pants when she had returned from the market and had questioned her about what had happened to her.
She claimed that when her granddaughter informed her that she was experiencing stomach pains, her father offered her something to drink before telling her about the incident.
According to the survivor's grandmother, the felon was taken into custody after a report was made to the Meiran police station.
In his testimony, the prisoner's brother also informed the court that the prisoner had previously been arrested and had been causing issues in the family.
The prisoner who served as the only witness in his case denied engaging in sexual activity with his daughter.
His daughter resided with his parents, he added, but he did not live with them. He did, however, have access to the house.
The man who had multiple sexual encounters with the survivor was identified by the court as her biological father in the present instance.
In addition to confirming Asekeji's paternity, additional witnesses attested to the victim's testimony, according to Soladoye.
The conviction is supported by circumstantial evidence, a medical report, the grandmother's, grandfather's, and her uncle's testimonies.
