Trial of Rwandan Genocide suspect put on hold

  In order to determine if Felicien Kabuga, a suspect in the genocide in Rwanda, is in sufficiently good mental health to stand trial, judges at a UN court in The Hague have suspended the case against him.

   Prosecutors charged him with using his radio station to incite ethnic Hutus to murder ethnic Tutsis when the case was first brought in September of last year.

  He was also charged with providing machetes to death squads. He denies all the charges.

  Earlier this week, His defense team called for the 90 year old trial to be suspended citing dementia.

  After years of evading capture, he was finally apprehended in France about three years ago.
