Jada Pinkett Smith has been very open about how important Tupac Shakur was to her, and following the arrest of Duane "Keffe D" Davis in connection with the killing of her friend, she sent a message on Instagram discussing her feelings over the matter.

Jada Pinkett Smith hopes for some closure

Pinkett Smith shared a very short, concise message on Instagram with the simple statement, "Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure. "RIP, Pac."


With this, she highlights how important Tupac Shakur was to her because they shared a childhood in Baltimore and remained friends into adulthood, making it very clear that there was in fact no romantic "entanglement" whatsoever.

As Tupac's siblings have previously stated in interviews, there is a need for closure, she joins the many others who demand justice for the rapper's death who became a cultural icon. 

Sister, Sekyiwa Shakur felt there was something that improved after the arrest, "This is no doubt a pivotal moment. The silence of the past 27 years surrounding this case has spoken loudly in our community. It's important to me that the world, the country, the justice system, and our people acknowledge the gravity of the passing of this man, my brother, my mother's son, my father's son. His life and death matters, and should not go unsolved or unrecognized, so yes, today is a victory but I will reserve judgment until all the facts and legal proceedings are complete. There have been multiple hands involved and there remains so much surrounding the life and death of my brother Tupac and our Shakur family overall. We are seeking real justice, on all fronts."
