The national electricity grid collapsed again on Monday, causing power outages in several parts of the country. An official from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), who confirmed the incident, described it as a partial collapse.
The TCN official, speaking anonymously as they were not authorized to speak to the press, stated that efforts to restore power were underway. Observations showed that total generation on the grid dropped to zero at 1:33 pm on Monday.
This marks the fifth grid collapse in 2024, highlighting ongoing issues with the country's power infrastructure.
