In a recent wave of attacks in Kaduna State, bandits have abducted 22 individuals in separate incidents across two communities. The assailants targeted Mani village in Rido Ward, Chikun Local Government Area, and Danhonu II in Millennium City, both in the early hours of September 6, 2024. Among the victims are a nursing mother and her four children, as well as other young children and an infant. In Danhonu II, a nurse and her three sons were also kidnapped.
The attackers reportedly stormed the communities while residents were asleep, shooting sporadically and abducting people from their homes. Local sources have expressed concerns about the victims' safety, particularly as no communication has been received from the abductors yet. Despite these grave incidents, there has been no official confirmation from the police, and efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful.
These incidents add to a growing insecurity issue in the region, as similar attacks have occurred in recent months, including the abduction of two journalists in the same area
